Description
The Arisaka Inline Scout Pro Mount is built specifically for Surefire Scout Light Pro swivel bodies — it is not a universal light mount adapted to fit, but a purpose-engineered replacement for the OEM Picatinny mount that ships with those lights. The distinction matters: because the mount is designed around the Pro series’ swivel interface, it preserves the full range of swivel adjustment rather than locking the light in a fixed orientation the way a generic clamshell mount would.
The triangular cross-section is the structural core of the design. A rectangular mount profile under lateral load tends to twist or deflect at the clamping screws; the triangular geometry distributes that load across three faces, resisting both twist and flex without adding bulk. This becomes relevant when the mount is run in cantilever configuration — extended off the end of a handguard rather than along its rail — where the lever arm would otherwise amplify any flex under recoil. The cantilever option itself serves a specific purpose: pulling the light forward reduces the barrel or suppressor shadow that an inline-mounted light can cast downrange.
Arisaka machines the mount from 7075-T651 and 6061-T651 aluminum, applying a MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodize. Type III hard coat is a thicker, denser anodic layer than standard Type II, which gives it better abrasion resistance for a component that sees regular handling and environmental exposure. Installation uses an IP27 TorxPlus driver — not a standard Torx — with the Picatinny clamp screws torqued to 30 inch-pounds using Loctite 222 or 243. Compatible Surefire models include the M140A, M340DFT, M340C, M340V, M640DFT, M640DF, M640U, and M640V. Made in the USA.
