Description
The Arisaka Defense Side Scout Mount is built for shooters running M-LOK handguards who want to position a scout-style weapon light without the bulk and standoff of a standard Picatinny rail adapter. By sitting the light low and close to the handguard, it allows the light to tuck neatly beneath a laser or illuminator unit — specifically clearing the bodies of ATPIAL-C, AN/PEQ-15, and LA-5/PEQ devices on one side, and the QD lever on Steiner DBAL I2, A3, and D2 units on the other. That clearance matters in practice: without it, a scout light and a laser device compete for the same real estate and force a compromise in positioning one or both.
The mount is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodized finish, which gives it the corrosion and wear resistance needed for a part that will be handled repeatedly in the field. At 0.6 oz, it adds almost nothing to the overall weight of the setup. Compatible lights include the Surefire M300 and M600 Scout series, Modlite PLH and OKW, Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 1, 2, and HL-X, and the Arisaka 300 and 600 Series. Installation requires a 1/8-inch Allen wrench and a T20 Torx driver; removing the factory Picatinny adapter from a Surefire Scout Light also requires a T9 Torx driver, none of which are included. Made in the USA.
