Description

The B5 Systems Type 23 P-Grip is a drop-in replacement for the standard A2 grip on AR-platform rifles, designed for shooters who run a squared-off, modern shooting stance rather than the bladed posture the A2 geometry was originally built around. The steeper grip angle works with that stance rather than against it, letting the wrist settle into a more neutral position so the trigger finger contacts the shoe consistently without having to compensate through wrist rotation.

The extended tang — the raised rear shelf where the grip meets the lower receiver — fills the gap between the palm and the buffer tube area. That contact point matters for felt control under recoil and for keeping the firing hand from shifting during a rapid string. The palm-filling profile suits medium to large hands particularly well, providing a fuller purchase than the narrower A2 without requiring a dramatically wider grip that forces a stretched trigger reach.

The surface texture sits in a middle range: enough grip to stay put during hard use or in wet conditions, not so aggressive that it abrades the hand over a long range session. The grip is constructed from composite material and installs without modification to the lower receiver. The Flat Dark Earth finish is B5’s own — worth noting if you are color-matching furniture from other manufacturers, as FDE shades vary across the industry. This grip does not include storage inside the grip body.
