Description

The B5 Systems SOPMOD Government stock is the same buttstock B5 has manufactured for the U.S. Department of Defense under a Crane NSWC contract since 2011. This is not a commercial interpretation of that design — it is production overflow from the actual government contract, which means no commercial logos and no QD sling swivel socket. For builders assembling a period-correct or specification-accurate rifle, that absence matters: the standard commercial variants include both, making them immediately identifiable as non-military components.

The stock is built around a mil-spec carbine receiver extension, so it will not fit commercial-diameter buffer tubes. The cheek weld geometry is shaped to promote a consistent head position without relying on an elevated comb, which suits shooters running low-mounted optics or iron sights in a traditional AR configuration. Hardware throughout is steel and finished in Coyote Brown to match the polymer body — there are no mismatched metal components that stand out once the stock is mounted.

Internal to the stock are two water-resistant storage compartments, accessible from the rear. Fixed sling loops are integrated into the body rather than relying on swivel sockets, which keeps attachment points simple and eliminates a potential point of failure.
