Description
This barrel is aimed at Glock 17 Gen 5 owners who want a drop-in replacement that adds suppressor or compensator capability without sacrificing the precision tolerances that make a barrel worth swapping in the first place. It fits the Gen 5 frame directly, so there is no gunsmithing or fitting required.
The material is hardened 416R stainless steel, a grade chosen for its combination of machinability and corrosion resistance. Ballistic Advantage finishes it in QPQ — a ferritic nitrocarburizing process that hardens the surface and seals it against moisture more effectively than a simple blued or parkerized finish, which matters if the barrel spends time in a carry gun exposed to sweat and humidity.
Each barrel is honed, lapped, and tumbled before leaving the factory, and the bore is held to less than 0.0001 inches of deviation. That level of dimensional consistency means the bore is ready to shoot accurately from the first round without a break-in period. The 1:10 twist rate is well-suited to the full range of common 9mm projectile weights, from 115-grain through 147-grain, without being optimized narrowly for one end of the spectrum.
The Bomber fluting removes material from the exterior of the barrel in a distinctive pattern, reducing overall weight without affecting structural integrity where it matters. The muzzle is cut to 1/2×28 threads and ships with a thread protector installed, so the barrel is ready for use as-is and equally ready to accept a muzzle device when you want one.
