Description

The BCM A/T Optic Mount exists for one purpose: keeping a red dot exactly where it was zeroed, even after the kind of hard use that causes conventional mounts to drift or fail. BCM designed it around the Aimpoint Micro T2, positioning the optic’s centerline at approximately 1.63 inches above the top of the Picatinny rail — the lower one-third cowitness height that lets the iron sights remain visible through the lower portion of the optic’s field of view, giving the shooter a backup aiming reference without obstructing the primary sight picture.

The mechanical core of the design is the Angled Torque system. Rather than applying clamping force horizontally across the rail as a standard mount does, the patented clamp drives force at an angle, triangulating against the rail to produce roughly twice the clamping pressure for an equivalent load. A serrated locking spring-washer prevents the shaft nut from backing off under recoil or counter-recoil, which addresses the gradual torque loss that can loosen traditional mounts over extended strings of fire. Torque is specified — do not exceed 65 inch-pounds — and because the system is engineered around that figure, there is no guesswork about what properly torqued feels like versus over-tightened.

The mount body is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum billet and hard coat anodized to Mil-A-8625F. The steel alloy clamp and nut receive a Nitride treatment for corrosion resistance. Multiple integral recoil lugs are built into the body to resist both the forward and rearward impulses that work against zero retention over time. The result is a minimally complex assembly — fewer parts means fewer potential failure points in conditions where a mount coming loose is not an acceptable outcome.
