The BCM PNT Trigger Assembly is a drop-in mil-spec replacement for the AR-15 platform, aimed at shooters who want a meaningfully better trigger without departing from the proven geometry of the USGI technical data package. It suits anyone running a standard lower receiver who finds the factory trigger serviceable but wants cleaner break characteristics and more consistent pull weight over time.
The trigger and hammer are precision-machined from AISI8620 steel via investment casting, a process that produces a denser, more uniform grain structure than metal injection molding. After machining, both parts go through a three-stage heat treatment and case hardening sequence that BCM uses to optimize grain alignment, which matters for long-term wear resistance at the sear and hammer engagement surfaces.
The PNT designation describes three finishing steps applied in sequence. First, the sear engagement surfaces are hand-polished after grinding, which reduces friction at the break point beyond what the mil-spec surface finish requires. Second, an electroless nickel plating is applied to the trigger and hammer, which cuts down on the gritty texture and felt creep common to parkerized mil-spec parts. Third, Teflon particles are embedded into that nickel layer on both components, further lowering the coefficient of friction at the interface and adding a degree of corrosion resistance that the nickel alone provides.
The included trigger and hammer pins are centerless ground for tight dimensional consistency across mil-spec lower receivers. The disconnector is stamped from 1070 steel and fine-blanked rather than conventionally punched, which produces cleaner edges and more consistent engagement geometry. All hammer contact surfaces are ground to support a positive, well-defined reset. The assembly is manufactured in the United States.
