Description

The RECCE-18 MCMR Precision is built around a purpose that its name makes explicit: reconnaissance-style accuracy at ranges where shorter carbines start to run out of authority. It suits a shooter who wants a single rifle capable of genuine precision work without moving to a dedicated bolt gun or a heavier platform.

The 18-inch stainless steel barrel is the defining choice here. Compared to a standard 16-inch carbine barrel, the added length recovers muzzle velocity that direct impingement systems can sacrifice when running a mid-length or carbine gas port on shorter tubes. On an 18-inch barrel, a rifle-length gas system becomes practical, and that longer dwell time spreads the recoil impulse over a greater distance of bolt travel — the result is a softer, more deliberate cycle that is noticeably easier to stay on target through. That gas system behavior is particularly relevant when running heavier 5.56 or .223 match loads, which respond well to the more gradual unlocking timing.

The BCM MCMR free-float handguard removes barrel contact from the forend entirely. A traditional delta-ring setup exerts variable pressure on the barrel as the shooter’s support-hand grip changes or a bipod load shifts — free-floating eliminates that variable, so the barrel’s harmonic behavior stays consistent from shot to shot. The M-LOK attachment interface along the handguard keeps the overall profile slim while allowing accessories to be mounted without adding a full-length rail section.

The rifle ships with a BCM Mod 3 pistol grip, a collapsible stock, a compensator at the muzzle, and one 30-round magazine. No sights are included; the flat-top upper accepts any standard optic mount, which is the appropriate configuration for the distances this rifle is intended to address.
