Description
The Colt M4 Carbine in FDE Magpul furniture is built around the same core geometry and manufacturing approach that made the M4 platform standard issue for U.S. military and law enforcement carbines. It suits a shooter who wants a factory-complete rifle without sourcing aftermarket furniture, or one who wants a known-quantity baseline before any further modifications.
The chrome moly vanadium barrel runs at a 1:7-inch twist, which stabilizes heavier projectiles reliably — 62-grain M855-type and 77-grain match loads both perform at this rate, where a slower twist like 1:9 begins to lose stability with bullets at the heavier end of the .223/5.56 spectrum. That flexibility matters if you intend to use this rifle across different ammunition types rather than staying with a single load.
Colt fits this carbine with a Magpul SL stock and matching MOE-style grip in FDE, along with a Magpul vertical foregrip. The SL stock is a slimmer-profile design compared to the standard Magpul CTR, which makes it easier to mount over body armor or a plate carrier without the cheekweld changing appreciably between positions. A2 front sight post pairs with a Magpul MBUS rear flip-up — a functional iron-sight pairing that leaves the flat-top upper free for an optic while keeping a usable backup system in place. The receiver is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum. One 30-round magazine is included.
