Description
The Bergara B-14R Carbon Barreled Action is built for shooters who want to train seriously in rimfire precision without rebuilding a rifle from scratch. It pairs Bergara’s rimfire-specific bolt action with an 18-inch carbon fiber barrel, giving you a ready-to-drop-in assembly that works directly with B-14 Trainer chassis and stocks. This makes it the logical path for a shooter who already has a suitable chassis or wants to upgrade from a steel-barreled configuration without buying a complete rifle.
The carbon fiber barrel construction reduces weight noticeably compared to a contour-matched steel tube, which matters when you are shooting positional stages or carrying the rifle through a course of fire. That weight reduction does not come at the cost of stiffness — carbon-wrapped barrels resist heat-induced flex well, which helps maintain point of impact as round counts climb during practice sessions. The 18-inch length strikes a balance between velocity retention and overall package length, keeping the rifle manageable in confined positions while still driving .22 LR efficiently.
The barrel is threaded, allowing you to mount a suppressor or other muzzle device directly. The bolt features a floating bolt head design with a non-rotating gas shield, a detail that supports consistent lockup and helps isolate the shooter from any case-head event. Feeding runs through an AICS-footprint single-stack magazine, which means the geometry matches standard short-action AICS-pattern chassis — a practical advantage when building a rimfire trainer that mirrors a centerfire setup. The 10-round magazine ships with the action. A 1:16 twist rate is well suited to standard .22 LR projectile weights and keeps the system honest with a wide range of practice ammunition.
