Description
The BMR-X Carbon is Bergara’s small-game hunting platform built around the premise that a rimfire rifle should be genuinely light and packable without giving up the accuracy features that make a day afield worth the effort. The scaled-down Bergara Micro Rimfire action drives the design, and the match chamber — cut to tight tolerances — means the rifle rewards quality ammunition rather than averaging over a wide ammo tolerance window the way a standard chamber does.
The carbon fiber barrel keeps the overall weight down to 5.7 pounds, which matters across a long walk in rough country far more than it does at a bench. The 1-in-16 twist rate is well suited to the standard range of .22 LR bullet weights, from 36-grain hollow points through 40-grain round-nose loads, without the over-stabilization that a faster twist can introduce with lighter bullets. The barrel is threaded, which allows the shooter to attach a suppressor for hearing protection and reduced report on small-game work.
The stock geometry reflects deliberate ergonomic choices. The vertical pistol grip reduces the rotational torque your hand exerts on the action during the trigger pull, which contributes to more consistent shot placement. The flat forend is designed to sit stably on a pack, log, or shooting bag without rocking, a practical advantage when you are taking a field rest rather than a bench rest. Length of pull is externally adjustable to fit different shooters or layered clothing without tools.
The Bergara Performance Trigger ships with an externally accessible adjustment screw so pull weight can be set without disassembling the action or visiting a gunsmith. Two magazines are included — one 5-round and one 10-round — both compatible across the BMR platform. A 30 MOA Picatinny rail is mounted to the receiver; the forward cant gives extended adjustment range when dialing in scopes for longer rimfire distances. No iron sights are included.
