The B-14 Squared Crest is built for backcountry hunters who need a rifle that won’t become a liability at elevation. The platform pairs a purpose-built carbon fiber stock with Bergara’s precision-rifled barrel, and the result is a setup that handles rough conditions without the weight penalty of conventional walnut or synthetic stocks. The stock is manufactured using CF-RTM, a resin-transfer molding process that assembles dry carbon fiber by hand before injecting resin under pressure — the same approach used in automotive and aerospace fabrication. A continuous carbon spine runs the length of the stock to resist flex under load, which matters when you’re shooting off a pack or an improvised rest rather than a bench.

The action uses a two-lug bolt with a sliding extractor and a tapered bolt and breech interface designed to keep cartridge feeding and extraction consistent across a wide range of conditions. The entire metal exterior carries a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish, and the barrel is fluted to bring weight down without sacrificing the stiffness you need for repeatable accuracy. The muzzle is threaded and ships with Bergara’s Omni Muzzle Brake installed.

The 1-in-9″ twist rate is well-suited to the lighter, faster projectiles that .22-250 Remington shooters typically reach for — varmint and predator bullets in the 40- to 55-grain range stabilize reliably at that rate, while very heavy-for-caliber bullets would demand a faster twist than this rifle provides. If your hunting centers on prairie dogs, coyotes, or similar targets at distance, the cartridge and twist combination makes practical sense. The rifle ships with one five-round AICS-pattern detachable magazine.
