Description
The B-14 Squared Crest is built for backcountry hunters who need to move hard through the mountains and still make a clean shot at distance. It is not a range rifle pressed into field service — every design decision reflects weight discipline and weather resistance without sacrificing the mechanical precision that long-range hunting demands.
The stock is constructed entirely from carbon fiber using a closed-mold resin-transfer process that originated in aerospace and automotive manufacturing. Rather than wrapping carbon fiber over a foam or aluminum chassis, Bergara lays dry fiber by hand and injects resin under pressure, then runs a carbon spine through the full length of the stock for torsional stiffness. The result holds its bedding geometry under temperature swings and hard use in a way that composite-wrapped alternatives cannot guarantee. Length-of-pull spacers let you fit the stock properly before the shot matters.
The barrel is cut from 4140 chrome-moly steel, fluted to shed weight without compromising stiffness, and finished in Sniper Grey Cerakote for corrosion resistance in wet alpine conditions. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and ships with Bergara’s Omni Muzzle Brake already installed, so the rifle is ready to run at the range before you work up a field load. The 1-in-10-inch twist rate in .300 Winchester Magnum is matched to the heavier long-range projectiles — 200- to 230-grain bullets — that the cartridge is typically chosen for at distance, while still stabilizing standard 180-grain hunting loads.
The B-14 action uses a two-lug bolt with a sliding extractor and a tapered bolt body that mates to a correspondingly tapered breech, tightening the lockup while keeping the cycling smooth under fouling or cold. The detachable AICS-pattern magazine gives you compatibility with a broad range of aftermarket options if your field conditions call for a different capacity.
