The barrel is cut from 4140 chrome-moly steel in a No. 4 taper, which keeps weight reasonable over a full day of carrying while retaining enough mass to dissipate heat across a hunting string of shots. Bergara applies a Graphite Black Cerakote finish to both barrel and receiver, which handles weather and contact with brush without the maintenance demands of blued steel.
