Description
The B-14 Hunter is built for the serious big-game hunter who wants genuine barrel quality without paying a premium-tier price. It is a working rifle, designed to go into the field and come back dirty, and everything about its construction reflects that purpose.
The barrel is machined from 4140 chrome-moly steel in a No. 4 taper — a profile that balances stiffness against weight well for a carry rifle. The Graphite Black Cerakote finish protects the steel against moisture and abrasion through seasons of hard use. Bergara’s 1-in-8 inch twist rate is well matched to the heavier 6.5mm projectiles — bullets in the 140-grain range — that have made 6.5 Creedmoor a go-to cartridge for longer shots on deer-sized game. Lighter bullets are not excluded, but the twist is optimized for the high-BC loads that get the most from this chambering.
The B-14 action uses a two-lug bolt with a coned nose and breech, a geometry that guides cartridges into battery smoothly even when a hunter is working the bolt quickly under pressure. A sliding plate extractor handles extraction duties. The manual thumb safety gives the shooter deliberate, positive control over the firing state. The drilled and tapped receiver accepts Remington 700-pattern rings and bases, which means scope mounting options are wide and hardware is easy to source.
The stock is molded from glass fiber reinforced polymer with integral steel pillars bedded in place during the molding process, giving the barreled action a stable, repeatable seating. A SoftTouch surface coating keeps the grip secure in wet conditions. The hinged floor plate feeds a four-round internal magazine, and Bergara backs every B-14 with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee using quality factory match-grade ammunition.
