Description
The Premier Series MgMicro Lite is built for backcountry hunters and precision shooters who refuse to trade capability for a lighter pack. Every major component has been selected or engineered to shed weight without gutting the mechanical foundation a long-range rifle depends on.
The centerpiece is Bergara’s CURE carbon barrel, which uses a unidirectional high-modulus carbon fiber wrapping over a steel core. That construction keeps the barrel’s harmonic behavior consistent as it heats, which is part of why carbon-wrapped barrels can hold groups competitive with heavier steel barrels at a fraction of the mass. The 5/8×24 muzzle thread accommodates a suppressor or muzzle device without modification. The 1-in-8″ twist rate stabilizes the heavier, high-BC projectiles that make 6.5 PRC effective at distance — if you plan to shoot lighter pills in the 120-grain range, they will still stabilize, but the rifle is optimized for the 140–147-grain class where the cartridge earns its reputation.
The chassis is the XLR ATOM in magnesium — not aluminum, not polymer — which is how Bergara keeps the chassis itself at roughly 14 ounces for the short-action configuration. The smoke carbon fiber buttstock adds an adjustable cheek rest and a Limbsaver recoil pad, and the forend is machined with a built-in RRS 1.5-inch dovetail for direct Arca-Swiss compatibility without an added rail. The smoke carbon grip follows an ambidextrous flat-top AR profile, meaning most AR-compatible grips will swap in if the preference changes.
The TriggerTech trigger uses Frictionless Release Technology, which removes the sliding friction surfaces found in conventional two-stage designs. The practical effect is a break with no detectable creep and a consistent pull weight regardless of temperature or debris. Scope mounting uses a standard Remington 700 pattern base with 8-40 screws, so existing rings transfer directly.
