The Burn Proof Gear Suppressor Cover Heavy is built for shooters who run their cans hard and need a reliable barrier between that heat and everything around it. That means full-auto use, extended strings of fire, and low-light work where IR bloom from a hot suppressor is a real tactical liability.

The cover is a two-piece system. The outer shell is constructed from DuPont Kevlar, a fire-retardant material rated to 1,000°F — enough to handle sustained fire without the cover breaking down. Inside sits a fiberglass mesh liner with a maximum operating temperature of 2,000°F, which acts as the primary thermal barrier and can be replaced independently when it wears out, rather than replacing the whole cover. That replaceable inner sleeve is what separates this design from a single-layer solution and extends the product’s service life considerably.

Fit is handled by a deliberate sizing convention: the cover is built 0.5 inches longer than the suppressor it’s rated for, so the ends cinch around the front and rear of the can and hold position without additional hardware or tape. Once installed on a 1.5-inch diameter suppressor, overall diameter grows to approximately 1.75 inches — a modest increase that keeps clearance issues to a minimum on most rifle platforms. Beyond burn prevention, the Kevlar construction also damps heat mirage that would otherwise distort a sight picture, and reduces the infrared signature of a hot suppressor during night operations.
