Description
The Banshee MK4 in .300 AAC Blackout is built around a compact AR pistol platform suited to shooters who want a short, handy firearm that still delivers meaningful terminal performance. The .300 Blackout cartridge was designed specifically to function well from short barrels, so the 8-inch barrel here works with the cartridge rather than against it — velocity loss is modest compared to what a similar trim in 5.56mm would cost you, and the round retains enough energy at practical distances for both range use and home defense. The cartridge also meters its gas column to cycle reliably from short barrels, which keeps the manual of arms straightforward.
CMMG builds the Banshee on a Mk4 lower, which shares AR-pattern geometry so standard lower-parts accessories and muscle memory transfer directly. The manual safety gives you a familiar, positive control interface. The pistol ships with a single 30-round magazine, giving you a full-capacity loadout from the box without additional purchases to get running.
The Armor Black finish — CMMG’s own designation for this color and coating combination — is applied to the receiver and barrel for a consistent, matte appearance that reduces glare and handles field contact without looking obviously worn after the first range session. The platform accepts standard AR upper accessories, so handguards, charging handles, and optics mount without adapter hardware. If you intend to run a suppressor, .300 Blackout’s subsonic ammunition selection is broader and more developed than almost any other centerfire pistol-caliber cartridge, making this configuration a natural pairing for that use case.
