Description
The CR6920-EPR is Colt’s answer to what a duty-ready patrol rifle should look like when it leaves the factory — built for law enforcement professionals and serious civilian shooters who want a complete, deployment-ready platform rather than a base rifle waiting for upgrades. Where the standard CR6920 ships as a practical but plain carbine, the EPR adds a free-floating M-LOK handguard, a B5 Systems Enhanced SOPMOD collapsible stock, and Magpul MBUS Pro flip-up sights from the factory, so the rifle is ready to run without an immediate trip to a parts list.
The free-floating handguard is worth understanding on its own terms: by decoupling the barrel from any forend pressure, it keeps the barrel harmonics consistent from shot to shot regardless of how the rifle is gripped or supported — a meaningful advantage when precision matters at distance. The M-LOK mounting system keeps the profile slim and snag-free while still giving the shooter a full range of attachment points for lights, grips, and other accessories.
The 1:7-inch rifling twist is optimized for heavier projectiles — roughly 62 to 77 grains — which stabilize reliably at that rate. Shooters who prefer lighter 55-grain loads will still find adequate accuracy, but the barrel’s design intent is clearly weighted toward the heavier end of the 5.56 spectrum. The Magpul MBUS Pro sights are steel-bodied rather than polymer, making them a genuine backup system rather than a placeholder: they return to zero reliably after being folded, and they co-witness with most common optic heights. One 30-round magazine is included.
