The DD5 V5 in 6.5 Creedmoor is built for shooters who want genuine long-range capability from a semi-automatic platform without committing to a dedicated precision bolt gun. The 20-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is the foundation of that purpose: the extra length over a carbine profile lets the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge develop more of its velocity potential, which matters meaningfully at distances where the round’s flat trajectory and high ballistic coefficient are doing their work. The barrel carries a Black Phosphate finish, which provides corrosion resistance without adding appreciable thickness or affecting headspace.

The 1-in-8 twist rate is well-matched to the heavier, high-BC projectiles — typically 130- to 147-grain — that make 6.5 Creedmoor worth shooting at distance. Lighter bullets in this caliber are generally stabilized by faster twists, so this rate steers the rifle toward the upper end of the cartridge’s ammunition range. The 5/8×24 threaded muzzle is sized for the standard 6.5 Creedmoor suppressor footprint, leaving the muzzle device choice entirely to the shooter.

The receiver is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and mates with a 15-inch M-LOK handguard that keeps the rail uncluttered for bipod mounts and other field accessories. Daniel Defense’s adjustable rifle-length gas system lets the shooter tune dwell time and felt recoil to match different ammunition or suppressor use. The safety selector is a standard two-position design. The rifle ships with one 10-round PMAG and no sights, which correctly assumes the buyer will be mounting an optic appropriate for the ranges this platform is intended to reach.
