The DDM4 V7 PRO is Daniel Defense’s answer to the demands of multi-gun competition, where a shooter needs to move fast, track targets accurately at distance, and recover quickly between shots. It is built around a rifle-length direct impingement gas system, which spreads the pressure curve over a longer dwell time than a carbine or mid-length setup. The practical result is a softer, more gradual recoil impulse that lets you reacquire your sight picture faster without fighting the bolt against your shoulder on every shot.

The barrel is Cold Hammer Forged from chrome moly vanadium steel, chrome lined, and finished in Mil-Spec Heavy Phosphate. At 18 inches it occupies the sweet spot between the velocity ceiling of a 20-inch rifle barrel and the handling characteristics of a shorter carbine, and the S2W profile — Daniel Defense’s heavy-contour design — keeps the barrel stiff enough to resist heat-induced wander during sustained strings of fire. The 1-in-7-inch twist rate stabilizes heavier projectiles reliably, which matters for competitors who want to run 77-grain open-tip match ammunition without sacrificing stability.

The trigger is a Geissele Automatics Super Dynamic 3 Gun unit, chosen specifically for its short reset and light pull — two properties that tighten split times when working through a stage quickly. The Daniel Defense Muzzle Climb Mitigator, Gen II, uses calibrated ports to redirect propellant gas upward, counteracting muzzle rise so the rifle returns to the same point of aim after each shot rather than requiring manual correction. The MFR 15.0 M-LOK handguard provides a continuous Picatinny rail on top for optics and gives the maximum unobstructed rail length for a front sight if you choose to mount one. Sights are not included and must be sourced separately.
