Description
The Colt CR6762-EPR is a direct-impingement AR-platform rifle built around the 7.62x39mm cartridge, aimed at shooters who want the ergonomics and parts commonality of the AR pattern alongside a caliber capable of heavier projectiles at moderate range. It is a sensible choice for anyone who feeds a Kalashnikov-pattern rifle and wants an AR manual of arms without building a separate ammunition supply.
The 1:12 twist rate is slower than what you would find on a typical 5.56 AR, and that matters for ammunition selection. The 7.62x39mm projectiles commonly available in the United States tend toward lighter, 123-grain bullets, and a 1:12 rate stabilizes those well. Heavier or longer projectiles may not stabilize as reliably, so this is a rifle to feed with standard-weight ammunition rather than experimental heavy loads.
The furniture choices reflect practical priorities. The B5 Bravo stock provides a solid cheekweld with a QD sling mount built in, and the Centurion handguard runs M-LOK slots alongside QD attachment points, giving you mounting flexibility without adding unnecessary weight up front. The ambidextrous safety selector is a genuine quality-of-life feature for left-handed shooters and for right-handed shooters who train manipulations with their support hand.
Sights are handled by a Magpul MBUS rear paired with an A2-style front post. The MBUS folds flat when an optic is mounted and co-witnesses when needed, making it a workable backup rather than a placeholder. One 30-round magazine ships with the rifle.
