Daniel Defense’s Rail Panels are designed for shooters running Picatinny-railed handguards who want to cover unused rail sections without adding significant bulk or weight. Bare aluminum rail is hard on the hand during extended use and can conduct heat from a warm barrel directly to your grip — these panels address both problems by sitting between your hand and the metal.

The panels are molded from Santoprene, a thermoplastic rubber material that stays pliable across a wide temperature range and resists the heat that builds up during sustained fire. The material’s texture provides a consistent grip surface regardless of weather conditions, which matters when the alternative is slick aluminum under wet or cold hands. Santoprene also absorbs and dissipates heat rather than conducting it, giving the panels their rated resistance to temperatures up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Each panel in the set runs seven inches long and is designed to be trimmed down with ordinary tools, so you can work around rail-mounted accessories like lights, lasers, or foregrips rather than removing them. The set includes three panels, giving you enough material to cover multiple rail sections or to cut several shorter pieces from a single panel. Fit is limited to 1913 Picatinny rail systems — they will not work with KeyMod or M-LOK handguards.
