Description

The standard A2 pistol grip has been a functional default for decades, but it was never designed around natural hand mechanics. Daniel Defense reworked the geometry from the ground up, adopting the same grip angle as the 1911 pistol. That angle places the wrist in a more neutral position relative to the bore, which means less compensation required to get the sights on target and a more consistent cheek-to-stock relationship across varying shooting positions.

The grip body is polymer with a soft-touch overmolded section covering the contact area. The overmold provides mechanical texture rather than relying on aggressive stippling, so it bites in wet or cold conditions without abrading a bare hand during extended range sessions. The overall profile runs on the narrower side, which tends to suit shooters with medium to smaller hands, and the absence of a pronounced beavertail keeps the design straightforward.

The integrated trigger guard is where this grip departs most noticeably from a standard two-piece arrangement. Because the guard is molded as part of the grip, there is no roll pin required at the front lug, removing the step where lower receivers most commonly get damaged during assembly. The guard opening is oversized, leaving enough room to operate the trigger while wearing gloves without any additional modification. A grip screw and washer are included, so installation requires nothing beyond a standard screwdriver.
