Description
The EOTech XPS2-300 is a holographic weapon sight built specifically for rifles chambered in 300 AAC Blackout, where the performance gap between supersonic and subsonic loads demands two distinct aiming points rather than one. The reticle pairs a 68 MOA ring with two 1 MOA dots stacked vertically: using supersonic ammunition, the dots correspond to 100 and 300 yards; with subsonic loads, they shift to 50 and 150 yards. That relationship is printed on the hood of the sight so there is no guessing in the field. The ring itself serves as a rapid-acquisition reference at close range, while the dots handle any precise work at distance.
The XPS2 platform uses a single CR123A battery mounted transversely under the housing, which keeps the overall footprint shorter than EOTech models that place the battery behind the optic body. That recovered rail space matters when running a rear iron sight or a magnifier behind the holographic unit. The body is machined from aluminum with a hardcoat anodized finish, and the unit is submersible to ten feet. Runtime runs to 600 continuous hours at the middle brightness setting, which is enough for extended training blocks without constant battery management. The sight runs at 1x and adds no additional glass in the optical path, so both-eyes-open shooting stays natural and there is no parallax shift to correct at typical engagement distances. It is not compatible with night vision devices; if that capability is a requirement, the EXPS3 is the appropriate EOTech platform to consider instead.
