Description
The EOTech Vudu X 2-12×40 SFP is built for hunters and practical shooters who want a clean, reliable optic that stays out of the way until a shot presents itself. It sits in a magnification range that covers whitetail in timber at forty yards and reaches credibly past three hundred without the bulk or complexity of a higher-power precision scope.
The Second Focal Plane design keeps the reticle at a constant apparent size as you dial magnification up or down. That means the BD1 reticle’s subtensions are calibrated to one specific power setting — typically the highest — so ranging and holdover math stay predictable when you’re shooting at full magnification, while the reticle stays fine and unobtrusive at lower settings for broader situational awareness. This is a deliberate trade-off: SFP suits shooters who set a known dope and engage, rather than those who need holdovers to track correctly at any magnification.
The BD1 reticle pairs a duplex-style outer frame with built-in ballistic holdover points. The duplex draws your eye inward quickly under pressure, while the interior hash marks give you reference points for compensating at distance without switching to a separate reticle or doing mental arithmetic mid-shot. Illumination extends the reticle’s usefulness into low-contrast backgrounds — dense shadow, dusk, or heavy cloud — without committing you to the lit reticle when conditions don’t call for it.
The tube and body are machined from aircraft-grade aluminum in a single-piece construction with an anodized finish, then filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging when temperatures swing. Capped turrets protect zero during carry, and the laser-engraved magnification ring paired with a removable throw lever lets you change power quickly without breaking your grip or your focus on the target.
