The EOTech Vudu X 2-12×40 in Second Focal Plane configuration is built for shooters who need a single optic to handle both close-range work and stretching out to medium-range precision distances. The 2x low end keeps both-eyes-open shooting practical at short distances, while 12x gives you enough magnification to work smaller targets or read mirage and conditions at distance — a range that suits everything from carbine courses to hunting fields to longer-range steel.

Placing the reticle on the Second Focal Plane means the DP1 subtensions are calibrated at one specific magnification, typically maximum power. That keeps the reticle visually clean and easy to read at lower settings, which matters when you need a fast sight picture. The trade-off is that any ranging or holdover math using the reticle marks must account for your current power setting. For most hunting and general field use, that is a straightforward habit to build.

The 0.25 MOA click value gives you fine, predictable adjustments without chasing the turret through large increments, and capped turrets protect those settings from being bumped during carry or transport.
