Description
The Steiner H6Xi was built for shooters who want a scope that moves naturally between close-quarters precision work and extended-range engagement without recalibrating their expectations at every magnification stop. Rooted in the design lineage of the T6Xi series, it carries that tactical heritage into a platform sized for hunting and field use, where durability and optical performance have to coexist with reasonable weight.
The first focal plane arrangement is the central engineering decision here. Because the STR-MIL reticle scales with magnification, every mil subtension on the reticle reads correctly whether you are dialed to 3x or running full power at 18x. That consistency matters most when you are ranging a target or making a rapid holdover call without time to mentally correct for the magnification setting — the reticle does that work for you at any power level.
The tube and body are machined from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum, which keeps weight controlled without sacrificing the structural rigidity needed to maintain zero under field conditions. The 30mm tube is sealed against water and nitrogen-purged against internal fogging, so the optic stays functional in weather that would compromise a less robust build.
The STR-MIL reticle is a mil-based design suited to shooters already working in that measurement system — wind corrections, range estimation, and ballistic holdovers all stay in one unit of measure, which simplifies the math under pressure. The 50mm objective gathers meaningful light during low-light shooting windows without pushing the scope into a weight and height-over-bore penalty that would make a practical field mount difficult.
