Description

The GBRS Group Lerna Mount Kit is built around a specific problem: conventional optic heights force a shooter’s head down into the stock, which works against almost everything else a fighter wears or carries. When ear protection, a communications headset, a gas mask, or night vision is in the equation, that low cheek-weld position becomes a liability rather than an asset. The Lerna addresses this by positioning the optic centerline at 2.91 inches, high enough that the shooter can maintain a more upright, neutral spine rather than craning forward and down.

That posture shift has a practical consequence beyond comfort. Keeping the spine vertical means body armor stays oriented toward the threat rather than angling away as the shooter ducks into a traditional mount. The more upright head position also opens up peripheral vision and reduces the tunnel-vision effect that a deeply hunched stance can produce under stress.

This variant is fitted specifically to the Trijicon MRO — the mount geometry is purpose-cut for that optic’s footprint rather than adapted from a universal platform — and finished in Flat Dark Earth to coordinate with standard FDE-pattern kit. The Lerna represents GBRS Group’s answer to the gap between how optic mounts have traditionally been built and how operators actually run their gear in the field.
