Description

Geissele’s Premium Mil-Spec Buffer Tube Assembly is built for shooters who want to stop piecing together a buffer system from mismatched components and get a fully engineered package instead. Everything included — the buffer tube, castle nut, end plate, Super 42 spring, and H2 buffer — is selected to work as a system rather than a collection of individually adequate parts.

The buffer tube itself is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished with a Type 3 hardcoat anodize, which provides a wear surface substantially harder than the Type 2 coating common on mil-surplus tubes. That matters at the castle nut interface and at the stock locking points, where softer anodize tends to wear through first under regular use.

The Super 42 spring is where the design departs most noticeably from a standard replacement kit. Rather than a conventional single-wire coil, it uses three strands braided together — a geometry borrowed from sustained-fire machine gun applications. The braided construction allows each strand to flex somewhat independently, which spreads harmonic energy across the spring rather than letting it build into the resonant bounce that wears standard springs unevenly and can produce felt stutter during rapid fire. Spring service life increases accordingly.

The included H2 buffer pairs with that spring for carbine-length gas systems. The additional weight relative to a standard or H1 buffer slows the bolt carrier’s rearward travel slightly, which softens felt impulse and gives the case more time to depressurize before extraction — a practical benefit with overgassed or suppressed setups running a carbine port.
