Description

The Geissele Super Charging Handle is built for shooters running suppressed or short-barreled setups who have dealt with gas venting back toward the face — a common nuisance with standard charging handles in those configurations. The raised rear lip redirects that blowback away from the shooter, which makes a practical difference when running a can or a shorter barrel where gas pressure at the receiver is amplified.

The handle is machined from a single billet of 7075-T6 aluminum rather than cast or assembled from multiple pieces, which keeps the geometry consistent and removes potential weak points at joints. Both levers are extended beyond standard mil-spec dimensions, so you can get a positive grip from either side without fishing for the latch under pressure or while wearing gloves. The lever surfaces are checkered and contoured on both axes — similar in concept to the M14 charging handle — so the contact point doesn’t disappear when your hand hits it at an angle.

The Desert Dirt Color finish is Geissele’s own DDC anodize, applied as a Type 3 hardcoat. Geissele is straightforward about the fact that DDC can shift noticeably between production batches, so if color consistency across a build matters to you, they recommend overcoating with something like Cerakote or DuraCoat rather than trying to match parts batch to batch. The handle is compatible with standard AR-15 upper receivers and is designed around the 5.56 platform.
