Description

Standard mil-spec charging handles are built around centerfire cartridges, where spent casings eject cleanly downward and away. With a .22 LR conversion, the geometry changes: lighter brass can catch in the open channel that runs along the underside of a conventional charging handle, causing jams that have nothing to do with the bolt or barrel. CMMG designed this charging handle specifically to close off that problem at its source.

The channel is filled in and reinforced, so there is no pocket for a spent .22 casing to wedge into between cycles. The construction is durable polymer throughout, which keeps weight low and eliminates the possibility of galling against an aluminum upper receiver. It is a direct fit for CMMG’s .22 LR conversion kits and dedicated .22 LR uppers, and it drops in wherever a mil-spec charging handle would otherwise go.
