Description

The Geissele Super Precision mount in Desert Dirt Color is built for shooters who need their optic to stay exactly where they put it, no matter how many rounds go downrange. Its purpose is straightforward: put a 34mm scope on a flat-top AR-15 and have it return to the same zero every time you take it off and put it back on.

That reliability starts with how the mount is made. The entire body, including the caps, is machined from a single billet of 7075-T6 aluminum, which eliminates the small dimensional variations that come from joining separately manufactured pieces. Because the rings and the base share the same material origin and the same machining setup, the bore of each ring is already aligned with the other — the scope sits in a geometry that was never assembled from mismatched parts.

Clamping is handled by a pair of thumb screws that Geissele rates at 1,400 pounds of force each. That figure matters on a rifle platform where recoil impulse is sudden and the optic is cantilevered forward of the receiver. The mount spans seven Picatinny slots and uses four shear lugs to distribute that load rather than concentrating stress at two points.

The extended configuration moves the scope 1.16 inches forward relative to the standard mount. On an AR-15 with a fixed cheek weld, that shift is often the difference between straining for eye relief and finding it naturally. The Desert Dirt Color anodized finish is a Type 3 hardcoat process, which provides a surface hard enough to resist contact wear without adding meaningful weight. For a rifle that leaves the range and sees field use, that durability has practical value.
