Description
The Geissele Super Precision mount in Desert Dirt Color is built for shooters running a Vortex 1-6x optic on an AR-15 and who refuse to accept any movement between the glass and the rail. The 30mm tube diameter matches the Vortex 1-6 body precisely, which matters because a ring that isn’t profiled to the scope it holds creates uneven clamping pressure — a problem that can shift point of impact under recoil or damage the scope body over time. Geissele profiles this mount specifically to the Vortex 1-6 to avoid that compromise.
The one-piece construction eliminates the alignment variable that comes with separate rings. With a two-ring setup, the rings have to be lapped or carefully torqued to sit on the same axis; a one-piece mount removes that step because the geometry is fixed at the machine. For a precision or designated marksman role where the mount goes on and stays on, that consistency pays dividends every time the rifle comes out of storage. For a competition or patrol application where the optic might move between hosts, it means returning to zero more reliably after reinstallation.
The Desert Dirt Color finish is Geissele’s DDC, a subdued earth tone that reduces visual signature and coordinates with common desert-pattern furniture without reading as a bright contrast point in the field. This mount is machined in the United States, and the Super Precision line is Geissele’s purpose-built answer to mounting low-power variable optics on direct-impingement and piston AR platforms where both the heat cycles and the recoil impulse are real concerns for long-term zero retention.
