Description
The Geissele Super Semi-Automatic Enhanced (SSA-E) is a two-stage trigger designed for shooters who want a cleaner, more predictable break than a standard mil-spec trigger can deliver — whether that’s for precision rifle work, competition, or a general-purpose AR build where trigger quality actually matters. It is not a single-stage drop-in; the two-stage design separates take-up from the actual break, giving you a defined wall to stage against before the shot fires. That distinction matters most when precision counts and time permits deliberate trigger control.
The first stage takes up slack at a lighter pull weight, allowing the shooter to pre-load the trigger against the second stage without disturbing the sight picture. The second stage then breaks cleanly and consistently. Compared to the standard SSA — which shares the same two-stage architecture — the SSA-E is tuned for a lighter, crisper second stage, making it better suited to precision-oriented use where a heavier or mushier break would work against you. The curved bow on this version suits shooters who prefer a bow profile for consistent finger placement shot to shot.
Geissele manufactures this trigger using wire EDM-cut components, a process that produces tighter geometry than conventional machining and contributes directly to the consistent pull feel the design is known for. The trigger group is compatible with standard AR-15 and AR-10 lower receivers, making it a straightforward installation for anyone already familiar with fire control group replacement. No gunsmithing is required beyond basic armorer tools.
