Description
The Geissele Super Tricon was built around a specific operational problem: a trigger that gives a trained shooter reliable, repeatable performance under the kind of stress where fine motor control degrades. Geissele developed it in direct collaboration with Jeff Gonzales, a former Navy SEAL and founder of Trident Concepts, whose background in close-quarters and general combat shooting shaped every design decision here.
At its core this is a two-stage trigger, which means the shooter takes up a defined first stage before reaching the second-stage wall. That wall gives the finger a clear mechanical reference point before the shot breaks—useful when the decision to fire and the act of firing need to be two distinct events rather than one continuous squeeze. The second stage itself is described as crisp and clean, with a break that allows for fast resets without sacrificing the tactile feedback that keeps a shooter in control during rapid strings of fire.
The trigger bow is where this design diverges most visibly from a standard Geissele geometry. The Tricon bow uses a hybrid profile with a ribbed surface, giving the trigger finger a consistent purchase regardless of glove thickness or grip angle. The full-power hammer spring is retained rather than reduced, which keeps ignition reliability high across a wide range of ammunition and environmental conditions. Construction is tool steel throughout. The trigger fits AR-15 and AR-10 platforms using standard mil-spec small-pin lowers and is not compatible with pistol-caliber carbine variants or the Sig MPX or MCX.
