The Timney Targa 2-Stage Short Trigger is built for AR-platform shooters who want a measurable improvement in trigger control without the guesswork of fitting custom components. It drops in as a complete, self-contained assembly, meaning the hammer, sear, and disconnector geometry are already set at the factory — no stoning, no adjusting springs, no hoping the pull weight drifts toward spec over time.

The two-stage design is the core decision here. The short first stage takes up slack quickly and reaches a distinct wall, giving you a reference point before the shot breaks. That wall matters in practical shooting: it lets you apply pressure while your sight picture settles, then fire with a deliberate second-stage pull rather than a continuous squeeze against an unknown resistance. The factory-calibrated weight runs two pounds on the first stage and two pounds on the second, for a four-pound total pull that suits both precision and speed work.

The housing is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 alloy with an anodized finish, and the hammer is wire EDM-cut from S7 tool steel with a Teflon-nickel coating that reduces friction without requiring additional lubrication during normal use. The curved trigger bow is standard in this variant. It is compatible with AR-15 and AR-10 mil-spec lower receivers across calibers, including Mossberg MMR platforms, and accepts standard small pins.
