The Timney 670 Competition Trigger is built for AR-10 shooters who find the factory trigger the weakest link in their accuracy. It replaces the standard mil-spec trigger group with a self-contained, drop-in module that requires no gunsmithing and no fitting — the entire assembly installs as a single unit, which also means all internal components stay captive and retained within the housing rather than loose in the lower receiver.

The pull is single-stage with no take-up and no overtravel to speak of, which changes the feel considerably compared to the two-stage arrangement many AR-10 owners are accustomed to. Where a two-stage pull asks the shooter to work through a defined first stage before breaking, this one tracks straight through to the break — a characteristic that tends to suit precision and competition work where consistency matters more than a deliberate staged reset.
