Description
The Omega Comp/Barrel is a joint development between Icarus Precision and Agency Arms, built specifically for Glock 19 Gen 5 pistols chambered in 9mm. It addresses a common problem with compensated pistols: the installation and retention hardware that typically requires tools, proprietary threading, or permanent modification to the host gun. This system does away with all of that through a push-and-rotate locking mechanism—the compensator seats and locks with a 90-degree turn, and removes the same way, leaving the pistol otherwise unaltered.
The single-port compensator is tuned to function with standard OEM recoil springs rather than requiring a heavier or lighter spring to cycle reliably. That matters because compensators redirect propellant gas upward to counteract muzzle rise, but doing so bleeds energy from the slide cycle—a balance that often forces compromises in spring weight or ammunition selection. Here, the port geometry is calibrated to work across the full range of standard 9mm loads without those trade-offs, so the shooter isn’t locked into a specific pressure band or bullet weight to maintain reliable function.
The barrel is constructed from 4150 steel and the compensator body from 4340 steel, with a Black Nitride finish applied to both. Nitride is a surface hardening treatment that penetrates the metal rather than sitting on top of it, which preserves the underlying dimensions while improving corrosion and wear resistance. The system is designed for OEM-profile slides only, so fitment with aftermarket slides should be confirmed before purchase. For Glock 19 Gen 5 shooters who want genuine muzzle control without committing to a threaded barrel setup or specialized tooling, the Omega Comp/Barrel offers a straightforward, reversible solution.
