Description

The ADM RICO MICRO MQD Mount is a purpose-built mounting solution developed through a collaboration between iRayUSA and American Defense Manufacturing, designed to give RICO MICRO thermal weapon sight users a single mount that handles both weapon and helmet roles without swapping hardware. At its core is the PICTAIL system — a hybrid shoe that combines the standard dovetail profile found on helmet mounting hardware with a single-slot MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny section engineered specifically to interface with the ADM MQD mount. That combination is what makes the system genuinely dual-purpose rather than a compromise in either direction.

The PICTAIL dovetail section is compatible with helmet mounting interface hardware from Wilcox, KVC, and comparable manufacturers, so transitioning the RICO MICRO from a rifle to a helmet mount requires no additional adapters. On the weapon side, the MQD mount and PICTAIL work together to give you adjustable positioning along any standard Picatinny rail. Run the unit in standalone optic mode and it produces over 4.5 inches of rear offset — enough clearance for comfortable eye relief without crowding other accessories. Reverse the orientation for clip-on use in front of a day optic and that rear offset drops to approximately 1.5 inches, with the forward rail footprint shrinking to just four rail slots. That compact clip-on footprint matters on shorter platforms where rail space in front of a magnified optic is genuinely limited.

The MQD mount itself carries ADM’s quick-detach lever design, so the entire assembly can be removed and reinstalled without tools while returning to zero. For shooters who regularly move the RICO MICRO between a rifle and a helmet rig, this mount eliminates the need to own and manage separate mounting solutions for each application.
