Description

The KAK Industry Plan B AK74 is a suppressor-mount muzzle device built for AK-pattern rifles running 7.62x39mm or 5.56, designed specifically around the Plan B suppressor hub system. Rather than relying on a standard thread-only lockup, KAK machines a taper ahead of the threads so that every time a Plan B hub is installed, it seats against the same repeatable mechanical reference point. That taper-then-thread geometry also creates a positive seal between the muzzle device and the suppressor adapter, which matters for gas management and consistent first-round performance.

The M26x1.5 left-hand thread pitch is the correct spec for AK74-pattern muzzle profiles, and the left-hand orientation means firing forces naturally tighten the device rather than working it loose over time. KAK cuts and machines everything in-house from 17-4 stainless steel, then applies a nitride finish for corrosion resistance and surface hardness without adding meaningful weight — the device comes in at 3.5 oz and extends 2.55 inches overall, with 1.55 inches of that projecting into the blast chamber. A timing shim set and a multi-wrench are included; KAK specifies Rocksett adhesive and 20–25 ft-lbs of torque for installation, which is worth following closely given the sealing function of the taper interface.

One practical consideration: KAK recommends pairing this device with a KAK Hub mount specifically. The face-mount geometry is optimized for that hub, and compatibility with third-party adapters is not guaranteed. Some suppressor manufacturers also have policies around non-OEM muzzle devices that are worth checking before purchase.
