Description
The Kinect 3-Slot Picatinny Rail from Kinetic Development Group is built for shooters who run M-LOK handguards but need to mount Picatinny-compatible accessories without committing to a permanent or tool-dependent solution. The core advantage here is the Kinect mounting system: rather than threading a nut and torquing it down with an allen wrench, spring-loaded wedges engage the M-LOK slot when the mount is pressed into place. That means attachment and removal happen in seconds, with no tooling required and no risk of over-tightening the interface. The trade-off worth understanding is that the system is designed for standard M-LOK slot thickness between 0.08 and 0.125 inches. Polymer handguards that fall outside that tolerance range may not engage the wedges correctly, so this mount is best suited to aluminum M-LOK rails that hold tighter dimensional consistency. The section itself is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and hard coat anodized, giving it the same material class as most quality aluminum handguards. Three Picatinny slots provide enough real estate for a light, laser, or grip without extending far enough to crowd adjacent accessories or add noticeable weight — the mount comes in at 0.8 oz. One practical note from KDG: the Kinect system can disengage under the sustained loading that a bipod or similar brace introduces, so it is better suited to lighter accessories like lights and lasers than to anything that puts prolonged downward force on the rail. Available in Black and FDE.
