Description
The Lantac E-BCG is built for shooters who want a bolt carrier group that does more than simply cycle the action reliably. Its patented carrier design relocates and resizes the gas ports so that gas pressure is vented forward and away from the bolt, rather than allowed to build up inside the upper receiver the way a standard carrier does. The practical result is a softer initial carrier impulse and a flatter-feeling shot, and when running a suppressed barrel the reduced back-pressure into the upper receiver is a meaningful advantage — though Lantac is clear that no carrier alone eliminates over-gassing entirely.
The carrier body is machined from 8620 steel, heat treated, then hard turned and ground to final dimensions after heat treat so that critical geometry is not subject to distortion from the hardening process. The bolt is Carpenter 158 or 9310 steel, shot peened and Magnetically Particle Inspected. The entire assembly is treated with a Nitride QPQ process before receiving the TiN — Titanium Nitride — topcoat, which gives the carrier its gold finish, a surface hardness in the 80–85 Rockwell C range, and a friction coefficient that keeps carbon from adhering the way it does on bare steel. That makes cleaning faster without requiring aggressive solvents.
The cam pin is Lantac’s CP-R360, machined from 17-4PH stainless steel hardened to H900 condition. Its domed head geometry distributes wear across a broader surface inside the upper receiver rather than concentrating it at a single contact point. The flared boss at the rear of the carrier tightens the BCG’s seating position in the upper, which reduces the variation in lock-up that can affect shot-to-shot consistency. The gas key is staked at four points using grade 8 fasteners and is hard chrome lined to MIL-STD-171 specification. Compatible with full-auto and semi-auto lowers.
