Description

The LWRC IC DI is built for the shooter who wants LWRC’s engineering and fit-and-finish in a direct-impingement platform rather than a piston-driven one. It occupies a sensible middle ground: you get the same monoforged upper receiver, fully ambidextrous lower controls, and cold hammer-forged barrel that define the IC family, but at a lower operating weight than the piston-driven IC variants. The result is a rifle that handles predictably and cleans up easily without sacrificing the construction quality the IC line is known for.

The barrel is cold hammer-forged and treated with LWRC’s Nicor coating, which is applied inside the bore for corrosion resistance and reduced fouling adhesion — useful if you run the rifle hard between cleanings. At the 16.1-inch length, LWRC adds spiral fluting to reduce weight without removing material from the critical chamber and feed-ramp area. The 1-in-7 twist rate stabilizes heavier projectiles reliably, so if you intend to run 75- or 77-grain match ammunition this rifle will handle it without compromise, though it will also stabilize standard 55-grain loads without issue.

The handguard is a one-piece free-float M-LOK design machined as part of the monoforged upper, meaning there is no barrel nut interface to shift zero when you torque accessories onto the rail. The “keyless” bolt carrier group simplifies disassembly — no tool is needed to remove the firing pin retaining pin. The lower is fully ambidextrous across all controls, and because it shares the IC platform architecture, the upper can be swapped for a piston-driven IC upper if your needs change. Finish is Patriot Brown Cerakote. No iron sights are included.
