Description
The REPR MKII is LWRC’s answer to a recurring problem in the precision semi-automatic rifle market: building a short, maneuverable 7.62 NATO platform that doesn’t sacrifice the gas system reliability or the heat management that a full-size rifle gets for free. This is a rifle suited to competitors who shoot at distance, hunters working in tight terrain, and serious shooters who want a .308-class rifle they can actually pack comfortably.
The spiral-fluted barrel does two things simultaneously: it reduces mass toward the muzzle, which shifts balance rearward and cuts felt muzzle movement during cycling, and it increases surface area so heat dissipates faster during sustained strings of fire. The 1-in-10 twist rate is a practical choice for .308 and 7.62 NATO loads — it stabilizes the heavy-for-caliber projectiles that most precision shooters favor in this chambering while remaining forgiving across a broad range of factory ammunition.
The 20-position adjustable gas block is worth understanding rather than taking for granted. Being able to meter the gas volume reaching the bolt carrier means you can tune felt recoil and bolt velocity to match the ammunition you’re actually running — suppressed or unsuppressed, light or heavy — without swapping components. The side charging handle keeps the charging motion on one side of the rifle regardless of how the rifle is mounted or what optic sits above the receiver, which matters when you’re running a large objective lens close to the bore. LWRC Skirmish Back-Up Sights are included, giving you a usable co-witnessed irons solution from the factory. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, the standard for .30-caliber accessories.
