MDT’s AICS-pattern metal magazine is built for precision rifle shooters running short-action magnum cartridges who need a high-capacity feeding solution that works reliably across a wide range of chassis and bottom metal systems. The steel construction is nitrided and then coated inside and out with Cerakote Elite, which serves a dual purpose: the exterior finish resists corrosion and handling wear, while the interior coating reduces friction along the feed path to help cartridges move consistently from stack to chamber.

The design uses a Double Stack to Single Feed (DSSF) transition, meaning rounds are stored two-wide toward the base of the magazine but converge into a single column as they approach the feed lips. This keeps the overall magazine height lower than a straight single-stack design would require at the same capacity, which matters when shooting from prone or any position where a tall mag would force the rifle higher off the ground or interfere with the chassis fit.

Compatibility is broad — these magazines work with any AICS-pattern bottom metal or chassis system. One practical note on action compatibility: because these magazines omit a front binder plate, a standard Remington 700 footprint action will typically accept them without modification, but other common actions may require the feed ramp to be notched to prevent bullet tips from catching. Confirming with your action’s manufacturer before fitting is the straightforward approach. The magazine is also compatible with 6.5 PRC, .270 WSM, and 7 RSAUM cartridges in addition to .300 WSM, making it a versatile choice if you run multiple rifles on the same chassis platform.
