MDT’s Long Action Metal Magazine is built for precision rifle chassis systems that use the AICS pattern detachable box magazine interface — the format that has become the common standard across most purpose-built long-range rifle chassis. If your chassis or bottom metal is cut for that pattern and you are running a standard MDT chassis (not a Tikka T3/T3x or Savage Axis variant), the 3.715-inch internal length of this magazine is the correct fit. That dimension matters because magazine length directly controls how much of the cartridge headspace is available for seating projectiles to length, and using the wrong length can cause feeding failures or prevent the magazine from seating at all.

The body is constructed from high-strength steel and finished in Cerakote Elite, MDT’s corrosion-resistant coating. Steel construction gives the body the rigidity needed to maintain consistent feed-lip geometry under field conditions and repeated loading cycles, where polymer magazines can flex. The Cerakote Elite finish adds a chemical and abrasion barrier that holds up in wet or rough environments without adding meaningful weight.

This specific variant is dimensioned for .300 Winchester Magnum in MDT’s standard 3.715-inch magazine well. MDT also notes compatibility with 7mm Remington Magnum and similar belted magnum cartridges with the same case head dimensions, provided the feed lips are adjusted accordingly. It will not function with .300 Remington Ultra Magnum, .300 Weatherby Magnum, or cartridges with significantly different body profiles. Capacity is five rounds.
