Description
The Magpul AFG is built around a straightforward premise: the natural angle of a relaxed firing hand is not vertical. Rather than forcing the support hand into an upright grip position, the AFG angles the hand forward along the bore axis, which keeps the wrist in a more neutral position during extended use and reduces the muscular tension that accumulates over a long range session or sustained work.
That forward hand position also places the support arm higher relative to the bore centerline, which has a practical effect on muzzle movement under recoil. With the hand fighting the gun from a more direct, in-line angle rather than pushing against it from below, the rifle stays on target more consistently between shots and returns to point of aim faster. This is particularly noticeable during rapid follow-up fire.
The AFG mounts to any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail and requires approximately four inches of rail space to seat properly. The three-piece polymer construction keeps weight minimal, and the grip ships with interchangeable finger nubs — a flat A1-style and a raised A2-style — so the shooter can tune the feel to preference or run it clean without either. Raised lateral wings on the body give the support hand a more secure purchase without adding bulk. All mounting hardware is included. The Olive Drab Green finish matches Magpul’s standard ODG color across their accessory line.
