Description
The Magpul ASAP QD is a direct replacement for the standard AR-15/M4 receiver end plate, designed for shooters who need reliable, ambidextrous sling capability without adding bulk or creating snag points. Swapping the factory end plate for the ASAP QD converts a rifle into a platform that works equally well from either shoulder — a meaningful advantage in confined spaces or when transitioning between firing positions under pressure.
The attachment point accepts any push-button QD swivel, including Magpul’s own QDM, and the rotating mount geometry allows the sling to move through a wide arc rather than binding at a fixed angle. That freedom of movement is what makes shoulder-to-shoulder transitions practical rather than awkward. The mount is compatible with both commercial and Mil-Spec buffer tubes, so it fits the majority of AR-pattern carbines without additional adapters.
Construction is steel throughout, finished with QPQ salt bath nitride — a case-hardening process that hardens the surface and provides corrosion resistance without meaningful dimensional change. The result is a mount that holds up to hard use without requiring the protective care that bare steel demands. Installation follows the standard end plate procedure; when the castle nut is properly torqued, staking is not required, though the design accommodates it if preferred. Note that the ASAP QD is not compatible with A1/A2 fixed stocks or other stocks that use a similar mounting arrangement, such as the Magpul PRS, UBR GEN2, or MOE Rifle and MOE Fixed Carbine models. Made in the USA.
