Description

The Magpul BSL is built for shooters running AR-pistol setups on standard mil-spec carbine receiver extensions who want a brace that handles sling integration without compromise. The mil-spec tube compatibility matters here because it means no adapters, no extra hardware — the BSL drops onto the same buffer tube geometry that most AR pistols already use.

Where the BSL earns its keep is sling management. Two M-LOK slots let you position a sling mount at different points along the brace rather than locking you into a single fixed location, which matters when you’re dialing in sling tension for a stable one-handed hold. That tension is the practical point of the whole system: a properly tensioned sling through the brace gives your shooting arm a reference point that improves control and consistency. The ambidextrous rear QD cup handles quick-detach swivels from either side, so left- and right-handed shooters get the same mounting options without modification.

The adjustment mechanism is designed for one-handed operation, which keeps the brace functional when your other hand is occupied with the pistol grip. Construction is polymer throughout, which keeps weight down and resists the kind of environmental wear that a range or field piece takes over time. The BSL shares its core adjustment and rear QD architecture with Magpul’s BTR brace, with the addition of the second M-LOK slot for greater sling-placement flexibility. Note that the carbine receiver extension itself is not included — this is the brace only.
